Apple hasn’t mentioned a thing about its rumoured upcoming smartwatch device, but actions speak louder than words. They have recently hired a very well-known Swiss executive in the luxury watch industry.
Jean-Claude Biver, the head of LVMH's luxury-watch division (which owns brands such as Tag Heuer and Hublot), let the cat out of the bag to CNBC on Friday.
"Our sales director left yesterday because he took a contract from Apple to launch the iWatch."
Even though Biver did not mention the executive by name, rumour has it that Apple have hired Patrick Pruniaux, TAG Heuer's vice-president of sales and retail.
Speculation has been around for months now that the iWatch will be launched soon, and we can only take it that this choice hire will have something to do with it.
