The rumours were true! Apple is releasing two new versions of its iPhone 6 - the standard iPhone 6, as well as the larger screened iPhone 6 Plus. These devices mark the pinnacle of Apple’s design perfection, and once again prove that the company can remain a force to be reckoned with in the mobile phone world.
The iPhone 6 will have a 4.7 inch screen, while the iPhone 6 plus will sport a 5.5 inch screen. This 5.5 inch screen will have a 1920x1080 Full HD resolution with a pixel density of 401ppi. In terms of other hardware the phone will feature an updated A8 processor which should deliver 50% more power than its predecessor.
In addition, the phone will feature improved battery life, enabled through increased software optimization and possibly increased battery size. The phone also comes with an M8 coprocessor which provides additional processing capability or graphics intensive programs and powers the device’s pedometer. Integrated within the phone is also an NFC chip which allows for payments to be made using Apple’s just announced Apple Pay system.
The iSight camera has maintained its 8MP sensor, however has been upgraded to include so-called Focus Pixels which will provide a better picture quality. In addition, the camera has the ability to shoot full HD 1080p video in up to 60fps as well as slow-mo lower quality footage in up to a massive 240fps.
The iPhone 6 will ship to the US and 8 other countries on the 19th of September, with pre orders opening on the 12th. Apple plans to have the new phones available in 150 countries by the end of the year.
