Notch, Minecraft Creator, Sells Mojang To Microsoft For 2.5 Billion

Markus "Notch" Persson, the Swedish videogame programmer and designer has finally decided to sell his studio Mojang to Microsoft, so that he can focus on smaller projects.

His reasons for selling and leaving Mojang were outlined on his personal blog, which is posted below. Perrson's game Minecraft has become an enormous success since it was launched in 2009, and it appears that the pressure to stay involved with the hit game became too much for Perrson. 

Mojang has confirmed Microsoft is buying their studio in a deal worth $2.5 billion - Perrson is the majority shareholder.
