The Verrado Electric Drift Trike is the coolest big kid three-wheeler you can drive. In fact, the sales pitch is, “[it] is a bigger, better, motorized version of the big wheel you had when you were a kid. This motorized drift trike is the beefy older brother of that plastic toy, and it skid-stops even better.” Although it looks like a childrens toy, this 73-pound vehicle doesn’t have any pedals, instead it packs all of it’s 25mph motor engine in its big front tire.
They are produced made by Local Motors, which is an American motor vehicle manufacturing company that relies on open-source designs to create incredible realities, such as the 3D Printed Car.
The trike’s front engine makes it a front-wheel-drive, which means the back two tires are covered in a thick blue layer of PVC, which helps the bike drift to conserve its 48x 9ah battery. The handle bars has the break and power switch. It is operated with keys.
Upon ordering, the bike arrives in a box that you assemble, but after about an hour, you have a 29-inch-tall, 59-inches long by 36-inches wide, new ride. The battery lasts approximately 10 miles or 30 minutes, but of course it depends on how much you drift, and currently, has no option to upgrade. However, it’s important to remember that it is open-source and available for any technicians out there.
Local Motors currently knocked down its price from $1,699 to $1,499. It comes in black, red, white and silver.
