It basically wants to make the email experience much fluid on your iPhone and give it the casual chat like feel.
It looks like Microsoft’s Outlook maybe getting a facelift or a new body altogether. The app will be called Flow and it will be an instant messaging and email hybrid for the iPhone.
A report from Mashable states that leaked information mention that Flow will be absolutely interchangeable with Outlook so it doesn’t expect to replace it completely. It also describes itself as ‘a great way to have rapid email conversations on your phone with the people who are most important to you’.
Microsoft is looking to follow more in the footsteps of Skype with this move.
The app also plans to be very simple and easy to use. It basically wants to make the email experience much fluid on your iPhone and give it the casual chat like feel. But aren’t emails nowadays reserved for more formal conversations? Food for thought.
The 'Flow by Outlook' is very similar to Qik an app released by Skype. The Skype Qik was released for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone in October of last year. Qik is a lightweight video messaging and instant messaging app that also lets you send video messages up to 42 seconds long. Microsoft is looking to follow more in the footsteps of Skype with this move.
It is very likely that the app will also release versions for Android and Windows Phone eventually.
