Technically Amazon spoiled the news by leaking it a bit early, but today Microsoft announced that it will be shipping their 1TB Xbox One console this month.

In addition to having all the extra on-board storage (1TB is really a lot, even for gamers), gamers will also be able to extend the storage space with an external USB 3.0 drive, which is perfect for heavy gamers. It also comes in a lovely matte finish, for style.

The new Xbox One costs $400, so Microsoft is setting back the price of the 500GB model to $350 permanently. So it’s also a good time to buy this version as well.

Microsoft has also created a brand new controller that includes a 3.5mm headset jack that plugs directly into the controller. The bumpers and enabled wireless firmware updates have been, and I quote, “fine-tuned” so that you no longer have to update via USB cable, but the controller will be updated automatically. With the new controller, users can control volume, mic monitoring and voice and game audio balance through the Settings menu on the console. The new pad will start shipping late this summer.

It will ship to retailers starting June 16 in the United States.
