iPhone users are in for a shock as the new iPhone 7 images are leaked from a Taiwanese phone case manufacturer, Catcher Technology. The new case designs first appeared on a French blog Nowhereelse.fr.
There have been speculations that the iPhone 7 case design that was leaked revealed a controversial design change in smartphone history. Here are the iPhone 7’s three major design transformations exposed.
1. No More Antenna Bands
Say goodbye to iPhone’s antenna strips. Apple has allegedly discovered a material that enables the antenna strips on the iPhone to be killed off. The stripes are cut into the handsets’ aluminium chassis to stop killing signal strength. Instead of having it at the back of the iPhone, where you hand can block the signal, antenna bands are expected to remain on the top and bottom edges of the iPhone 7.
2. Bigger Camera Lenses
NoWhereElse exposes the iPhone 7’s camera design. It looks like Apple decided that it’s time to make an upgrade to the camera, hence, make the module bigger.
It is evident in the photos leaked that the hole for the camera is significantly larger than the camera on a regular iPhone 6 and it has also been moved slightly closer to the edge of the phone.
According to Forbes, this potentially controversial revolutionary technology, is thought to be reserved solely for a new top of the range 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus variant called the ‘iPhone 7 Pro’.
3. Thinner and Lighter
Although the dimensions are not evident on the leak, the chassis design leaker says that the design "seems slightly thinner than the iPhone 6s, confirming in passing the lack of a headphone jack port", which means the iPhone 7 will also be a lot lighter to bring.
Although Apple is developing breakthrough designs that will standout from the rest of the iPhones, there is still one thing that users are more concerned about, battery life. This is something that Apple should be worried about as Samsung, Apple's main competitor, is accomodating superb battery power with their devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7.
