For 11 years I rocked the i5-2500k and for all that time I had it overclocked to 4.6ghz stable. I spent most of that time waiting for my renderings to finish. Probably years over the 11 years in waiting times. I bought a ryzen 3950x and was amazed, truly amazed at the speed difference. I managed to get hold of a test rig on ebay for £500 which had the ryzen 3950x with an msi x470 pro gaming and 16gb ram. The performance in 3ds max rendering is mental. A single image at 1080p resolution on the i5-2500k would take for example 5 minutes this has now been reduced to 15 seconds. It really is the difference between night and day now. I would recommend without a shadow of a doubt that this would be a worthy upgrade to any enthusiastic productivity craver. My projects can be done in no time. I'm running Windows 11 which the motherboard can handle so that's a nice bonus. Happy days. I'm still in week 2 of owning the ryzen 3950x so will be sure to update in time any changes to my opinion.
