Beyerdynamics DT 770 Pro is a Studio Headphone whereas Plantronics is an entertainment one. A studio headphone will reproduce the actual sound which an artists uses from his instrument for recording purpose. It will Not Boost high or low frequencies or any other parameters. Whereas a headphone with the purpose for music listening, will boost the sound qualities to give good enjoyment to the listener. Yes both are used for different purposes.

This headphone has a fantastic audio quality and allows for a deep immersion and detailed listening. It comes with different impedance options for different usages (from 32 ohms for casual listening on the go all the way to 250 ohms for studio use and professional mixing). The cables are tailored to the different uses - from a tangle-free, break-resistant spiral cable design for mobile applications to 2.5m (10 ft) straight cables for use in the studio or while DJing. The ear pads and headrest can be replaced, allowing for a nearly infinite use time with just one pair of headphones. Different choices in finish (velour, faux leather etc.) allow for maximum comfort with any preferences. The metal construction makes it very sturdy and also ensures optimum closedness around the ears, for a better noise suppression than many headphones that advertise their "active noise cancellation". And all of that for much cheaper than most other companies (when did you last buy headphones with a range of 20Hz to 25kHz and 32 ohms to 250 ohms impedence for under 120€? Never? Right, me neither). If you want the best that this price range has to offer - you just found it. And frankly, it's still much better than what companies like JBL offer even at twice the price tag...
