The connectivity type of the headphones.
Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard that allows data transfers between devices placed in close proximity, using short-wavelength, ultra-high frequency radio waves. Newer versions provide faster data transfers.
aptx Adaptive is an audio codec for Bluetooth devices that is developed by Qualcomm. It has a variable bit rate (between 279kbps and 420kbps), which means it can adjust the bit rate for different scenarios, such as listening to HD audio or reducing interference from other devices.
aptX is a codec used for transmitting audio wirelessly with Bluetooth. It is developed by Qualcomm, and supports 16-bit audio at a bit rate of 384kbps.
LDAC is a codec developed by Sony for Bluetooth audio. It is capable of a very high bitrate of 990kbps, which provides high resolution audio. It can also automatically adjust to a lower bitrate of 330kbps or 660kbps to increase stability.
aptX Low Latency is a codec developed by Qualcomm. It uses Bluetooth 5.0 technology to provide low latency audio (around 40ms), which is useful when you want to avoid audio lag (e.g. when playing games).
aptX HD is an audio codec for Bluetooth devices that is developed by Qualcomm. It supports high quality 24-bit audio (at a bit rate of 576kbps).
AAC is a codec that is used for Bluetooth audio. It supports 24-bit audio at 250kbps. Because it uses psychoacoustic modeling, it can provide better results than other codecs at a similar bit rate.
The device can connect at a greater distance via Bluetooth or infrared to another device.

These are the first wireless headphones I ever bought. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after a few days, I wouldn't want to miss them anymore. These are the first ANC headphones designed by Beyerdynamic. A company known particularly to professional musicians and sound engineers due to the industry standards - the DT770 Pro, DT880 Pro, and DT990 Pro. The Lagoon can't quite reach the level of these legends but definitely delivers when it comes to the sound quality. Also, the app allows you to take a pretty professional hearing test and adapt the sound to your hearing. This dramatically improved my sound experience. The app also allows you to further adapt it to your needs. It is made out of hard plastics and supported by some metal. The clamping power is just about right for my head to keep them perfectly in place. Connecting it with my devices is pretty straight forward and it hasn't happened that they suddenly disconnected. The noise-canceling does its job pretty well, although I've been told that some other headphones are even better when it comes to that. The only thing I would like to see with a possible future generation of the Lagoon is more colour options.

Have owned them for over an year. Here's my detailed analysis:- DESIGN & COMFORT: Minimalistic & compact design. Plastic built, earcups are leatherette. Comfortable and light, with a snug fit. CONNECTIVITY: Comes with Bluetooth 4.2. Has great connection strength and range. Can be used in wired mode with an AUX cable MULTI- DEVICE CONNECTION: Supports upto 10 devices. However, you can multi-task with 2 devices at a time. TOUCH CONTROLS: Placed on the Right Earcup, they're quite intuitive and easy to use. Their sensitivity can be adjusted as well. Pretty accurate and I haven't faced any accidental touches so far. Helps control music playback, volume and calls. VOICE PROMPTS: You are greeted with voice prompts when you Turn ON/OFF your headphones. Briefs you with 4 details - Battery status, ANC status, ANC level and bluetooth codec. LIGHT GUIDE SYSTEM (LGS): Seems like a gimmick at first, but is really handy. Just by looking at the lights, you can know their status. SOUND: The main USP of the Lagoon is Sound Quality. Clear, detailed and fun to listen to. No matter how many times you might have heard your favorite track, listening to it on these would make you notice so many beats you never noticed before. It'll give you the same excitement that you had when you listened to that song for the first time. You can literally hear when the singer opens his mouth or takes a breath. It's so detailed. These have a Balanced Sound, neither flat nor bright. The sound is energetic with a punchy bass. At the same time, the bass doesn't overpower the mids. The Mids are very well detailed. If you are a bass head, you can switch to "Bass Boost" in the presets, and it's going to give you a resonating bass. The soundstage is wide and it was such an immersive experience listening to Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Barbara Lynn. Excellent sound imaging and audio direction. I'd say, Audiophile-grade performance! ANC: 2 levels of ANC with decent noise isolation. MOBILE APP: Simple with a sound personalization feature. BATTERY: Insane battery life. 24 hours with ANC and approx 48 hours without ANC. CARRY CASE: Compact hard-shell carry case. Perfect for travel. WARRANTY & SUPPORT: 2 Years with all spare parts available VERDICT: I'm really surprised as to why these LAGOONs aren't a popular choice. These are Absolutely Fantastic in almost all aspects. I believe they should be considered amongst the Best Sounding ANC headphones in the market, atm.
