VSCO is known to be the preferred choice for serious mobile photographers and now gives their users to create brief, looping GIF images.
Instagram's photo editing application competitior VSCO has announced their own GIF creation app called DSCO (pronounced as disco) to battle off the former's Boomerang. VSCO is known to be the preferred choice for serious mobile photographers and now gives their users the possibility to create brief, looping GIF images which can be shared to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and even Instagram.
As GIF is becoming a very popular format which prompted Instagram and now VSCO to provide it to users. If Boomerang offers 1-second loops of stitched burst photos, DSCO topped it with 2.5 seconds of recording in MP4 video then converts it to a GIF. Other apps in the PlayStore and Apple Store include Phhhoto, which inspired Boomerang, and Giphy, which has both GIF sharing and GIF creation tools.
The DSCO app promises higher-quality GIFs for users to be able to artistically express themselves.
The interface of DSCO is very easy to use that it will definitely make long-time users of VSCO enjoy the new addition to their well-loved app. New users will also be delighted with its handful preset and the easiness of shooting, editing, and sharing of finished GIFS. There are exclusively presets for DSCO by their partners which include MTV, Opening Ceremony, The Infatuation, LACMA, Shake Shack, Yours Truly, Hypebeast, Yourstruly and more. At the moment only 5 presets are available but more will be added in the coming updates.
The DSCO app promises higher-quality GIF than those available from other platforms and app in order for users to be able to artistically express themselves. VSCO aims to reach and convert more users with this new offering. DSCO is already available at the App Store and the Android version will be made available soon.
