Naughty Dog has mastered the third person action shooter adventure trope with its recent success with Last of Us and the Uncharted series. After a wait that seemed to last forever we finally get the next chapter in infamous Nathan Drake’s story.
The Uncharted series prides itself on the intense, action driven, wall shimmying, shenanigans of Nathan Drake around the world. The smooth talking protagonist is highly inspired by the likes of Lara Croft (who is getting another game in Rise of the Tomb Raider) and Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones. Uncharted 4 pays homage to the whip-wielding archeologist by also giving Drake a whip this time around.
Joining Drake this time, is a long time mentor in Victor Sullivan. Drake’s brother, Sam Drake is also making a first appearance in the series so this is sure to be an interesting new element in the story.
Below is an E3 gameplay demo that features an action packed driving segment (a series first!).
The game is slated for release early next year. Its going to be one hell of a sweet 2016.
