Futurist Flagship From ZTE: Too Good To Be True?

These crazy specs leaked can’t be true

What I’m freaking out over is that apparently this smartphone will feature a 3.5GHz octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM. WHAAAAAT. What does that even process like? It’s like a smartphone from the future.

Spotted early today by GizmoChina, a bunch of leaked images of a brand new bezelless display smartphone, which ZTE has confirmed that this is indeed their new flagship.

Most importantly though, along with the images came specs via TENAA. However, these specs are so fantastic, they seem unreal.

The Nubia NX508J (or the flagship Nubia Z9) model listed on TENAA has a similar design to the Nubia Z9 Max, but with a bit of a 2.5D curved glass that extends to the end of the device due to the lack of bezel. It is incredibly narrow (even more so than the Huawei P8, which has a similar size screen - 5.15-inch display) but it’s bigger in length and thickness than average (and the P8). The dimensions of the Nubia Z9 are 147.38 x 68. 34 x 8.94mm, as compared to the P8 which is 144.9 x 72.1 x 6.4mm. It’s also going to be a heavy phone, weighing around 180 grams, in compared to the P8’s 144 grams.

What I’m freaking out over, though is that apparently this smartphone will feature a 3.5GHz octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM. WHAAAAAT. What does that even process like? It’s like a smartphone from the future. That’s more RAM than some laptops! To be honest, it’s probably a typo, and it’s more likely going to sport the Snapdragon 810 that speeds along at 2.5GHz, with a more realistic 4GB of RAM. There will be 32GB of internal storage, which, (womp womp) is not expandable.

The rear camera is packing a serious 16 megapixel snapper, with an 8 megapixel front snapper to compliment. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, and will support all the acronyms you can think of (GSM, LTE, WDMA, etc).

It is a dual-SIM, so you may rejoice. Also on deck is a 3000mAh battery.

The mystery shall be solved soon enough, because ZTE will have a press conference on May 6 to tell us about it.
