Huawei hired former Apple creative director Abigail Sarah Brody as the company's head of user interface design
First, it was the design language, now its the employees. It seems that Huawei is really on a roll when it comes to taking after Apple. Recently, Huawei hired former Apple creative director Abigail Sarah Brody as the company's head of user interface design.
After ten years apple and being one of the geniuses behind iOS 1 for the first iPhone, Brody left Apple in 2011. Although it has been years since she left the company, many are saying that this talent acquisition signals Huawei's desire to position itself better in the market.
Currently, Huawei sits at the top 3 as the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world according to IDC's market analysis. Samsung still holds the majority of the market at 23.8, while Apple holds second with 13.5 percent share. Huawei has been growing exponentially with an unbeatable 60.9 year-on-year growth.
With this recent developments, it seems that Huawei wants the second spot and soon enough will crawl its way to the top. They are still pushing affordable yet powerful mid to high range smartphones which buyers are looking into nowadays.
