Everything Star Wars is cool. Why? I don’t know why because it just simply is. One of the most recognizable figures in the Star Wars universe is R2-D2, that adorable little astromech droid.
We are light years away from an era where droids will be a part of our everyday life. But Haier Asia is bringing us a step closer. Those evil geniuses at Japan have conceived a remote-control refrigerator. Inspired by the droid’s unfortunate time in Jabba the Hutt’s palace as a drink dispenser of sorts.
The mobile refrigerator moves and looks like the iconic droid from the swivels to the cute beeps it uses to communicate. This was a joint venture between Disney and Haier Asia. The droid was showcased last week in Japan. Check out the video below (the video unfortunately is in Japanese with no English subtitles).
The astrorefrigerator droid will be available in the market in 2016. This is definitely the droid you are looking for.
