The great Lego (Jedi) Masters of the world turned up to celebrate the geekiest day of the year and to build the largest Millennium Falcon ever in Melbourne, Australia’s Southland Westfield in only two days.

Lego padawans arrived to help Lego (Jedi) Master Builders Dan and Chris Steiniger just in time to celebrate Star Wars day. The father and son are two of the seven “Lego Master Builders” and were flown from the United States to pimp Han Solo’s prized-ride.

Approximately 250,000 grey Lego bricks were used to create the final project, with hundreds of local Star Wars fans of all ages participating.

On display until Sunday, along with two Lego TIE Fight ships, all fans can visit the Millennium Falcon model, which is five metres wide and is the largest Lego Millennium Falcon ever built.

As to whether it’s the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, that remains to be seen. Somehow, though, we doubt it can make the Kessel Run in under twelve parsecs.
