This week two brand new budget-friendly smartphones hit the shelves: Studio Energy 2 and Energy X. Manufactured by BLU, a Miami-based firm, both are now available on Amazon, selling from $179 and $109, respectively.
Studio Energy 2 is the successor to the Studio Energy which launched earlier this year. The handset is powered by a quad-core MediaTek chip that has been clocked at 1.3 Ghz. It’s a solid 5-inch screen, with 720 x 1,080 resolution and Super AMOLED display.
It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Along with a Mali GPU, it has 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that is expandable via microSD. Just like its predecessor, it packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery that will ensure you live a long and happy tech-filled day.
As for the camera, it has 8 megapixels on the back and 5 megapixels in the front.
It weighs 176 grams, and is available in Midnight Grey, Ceramic White or Rose Gold.
The Energy X, meanwhile, sports a 5-inch, 720 x 1,080 pixel IPC LCD display. It is also powered by a quad-core MediaTek chip that was clocked at 1.3Ghz, but has only 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (also expandable via microSD).
