If you're one of those people who aren't able to go or watch the Microsoft event in New York, then you certainly missed first glimpse of the multitude of devices coming your way soon. So, here's a rundown of the highlights of #windows10devices event.

Being a standalone device, the HoloLens is definitely incomparable to that of the Oculus Rift and even the HTC Vive.

HoloLens

Microsoft definitely started off the event with a bang as they introduce the HoloLens. It's the dream of virtual reality come to life once again as it provides holographic version of your games including Minecraft and one that is made especially for HoloLens called Project Xray. Being a standalone device, the HoloLens is definitely incomparable to that of the Oculus Rift and even the HTC Vive. But having your holographic dreams come true also comes with a steep price of $3000. Expect the Development Kits of these awesome devices during the first quarter of 2016.

Microsoft Band

It aspires to be both a smartwatch and a fitness tracker and this time it seems to be able to smoothly provide both. It's not a serious competition for the Apple Watch nor the Android Smartwatches but it's definitely a breath of fresh air with its unique design, barometer, and a tougher surface made of Gorilla Glass. The device is on pre-order at $249.

Lumia 950 doesn't really offer jaw-dropping features except for the liquid cooling and the Continuum capability that will allow you to use it as a PC.

Lumia Line

Though leaks of the new phone offerings of Microsoft had already circulated in the web for weeks, we finally saw the latest flagship of the company in the form of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL. There wasn't much buzz on the mobile offerings of Microsoft as Lumia 950 doesn't really offer jaw-dropping features except for the liquid cooling and the Continuum capability that will allow you to use it as a PC. Running on Windows 10, there will only be a handful of apps available for it, making the Lumia 950 a very weak contender in the smartphone arena alongside the flagships of Apple, Samsung, LG, and Sony. The Lumia 950 can be yours at the price of $549 and the XL version at $649.

Display Dock

With their goal of integrating all your devices with ease, comes the Microsoft Display Dock which works as a hardware adapter for your phone, specificallty th Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. It has three USB ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and the new USB Type-C. With the help of Continuum your Lumia cn finally be used with a keyboard, mouse, and a large display.

Surface Pro 4

Step down iPad Pro and Pixel C, says the all new Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The 12.3-inch display device comes with a brand new Surface Pen which even has an eraser on its end and a highly-improved keyboard cover. Claiming to be the thinnest and most powerful Intel Core PC ever shipped, Microsoft confidently declared that Surface Pro 4 is 50% faster than Apple's MacBook Air. Now, now, that is one gutsy statement. It retails at $899.

Surface Book

After claiming that the Surface Pro 4 will replace laptops, Microsoft ironically launched their Surface Book. With a machined magnesium body, detachable screen, 13.5-inch display, and a trackpadmade of glass, Microsoft claim it to be the ultimate laptop as of today. It bravely claim to be twice as fast as the 13-inch MacBook Pro with its discrete GPU and a very impressive battery life of 12 hours. Display is touch screen and weighs 1.6 pounds with 7.7 thickness. It comes with a tag price of $1,499.

With all these new offerings from Microsoft they are definitely reinventing the device categories as they say. They probably won't be getting a big bite of the market share through all of these but slowly the introduction of these new innovations will have an impact on how technology standards will be in the coming days.
