Bioware declares war

The Murder Of Last Generation Consoles Has Begun

Bioware announced today that any future downloadable content (DLC) for the open world fantasy fest would be available only on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Bioware is the first developer to put the knife in, but it’s only a matter of time before the rest follow suit. Made famous from Dragon Age: Inquisition, Bioware announced today that any future downloadable content (DLC) for the open world fantasy fest would be available only on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Basically, it means that there is no more new content coming to your Xbox 360 or PS3. Bioware is the first to make your last-gen console completely irrelevant but it won’t be the last.

Ring the alarms, bring out your dead. The last-gen consoles are being hustled to the scrap pit, murdered for profit.

The name of the game is now only new, and coming soon.

It’s a sad truth to tell, but a truth nonetheless. We’ve all seen it coming for a while. Basically only boring sports games produce new versions of their game for the older consoles, where big profit games like Assassin’s Creed and Fallout come only to current generation machines.

We’ve all seen it coming for a while. Basically only boring sports games produce new versions of their game for the older consoles, where big profit games like Assassin’s Creed and Fallout come only to current generation machines.

The end is so near. Only when an existing last generation title gets pulled in favor of future content releases, is the apocalypse upon us. At least Rockstar hasn’t made any announcements for the new incoming downloadable content for GTA V (not yet, anyways).

Bioware is giving us all a chance to save some face, though. For those that started playing Dragon Age: Inquisition on PS3 or Xbox 360, we can move our original saves from the last-gen consoles to the current gen version on either PS4 or Xbox One. That’s assuming you aren’t so disgusted with the developer that you vow never to play their game again. But, you know, to each their own.

Basically, we can keep our adventure from where we left off, without starting again from 0. We can also move already purchased DLC into the new console so you don’t have to pay for it twice.

It’s a small victory, but we will take it - because it’s all their offering.
