Everyone had dreamed of riding the hoverboard but aside from that the most iconic time-travel movie franchise Back To The Future introduced us to the concept self lacing shoes 30 years ago. Today, Nike made that dream concept into reality.
In time with the movie's celebration of finally arriving at the future set at the second installment of the movie, Nike unveils its 2015 Nike Mag. As Nike, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Parker put it, “We started creating something for fiction and we turned it into fact, inventing a new technology that will benefit all athletes.”
Michael J. Fox himself let the world see how awesomely cool it is at Jimmy Kimmel Live. The shoes tighten and loosen its power laces just by pushing buttons on the side of the ankles. This limited edition pairs will be auctioned off in 2016 with all proceeds going towards the Michael J. Fox Foundation, in order to help researches of the Parkinson's Disease.
The Foundation hoped that sales of these futuristic shoes can raise more than the ones they were able to gain last 2011 which amounted to $9.4 million.
