The Droid Turbo 2 is likely to sport a shatterproof screen, along with flagship specs.
New images and a video has been leaked of Verizon’s brand new Motorola Droid Turbo 2. The first of the Droid brand to be available through Moto Maker, Motorola’s online feature that allows users to customize their handsets, it is likely it will be unveiled on October 27.
Obviously there will be plenty of different back cover variations, and the photo above gives us at least a partial view of some of the options. At least three appear to be made out of leather (to the left), while the rest appear to be made out of either kevlar or fabric.
The real talk, however, is about the front screen. The Droid Turbo 2 is likely to sport a shatterproof screen, along with flagship specs.
The device will likely feature a 5.5-inch screen with QHD display (or 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution), Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset, along with 3GB of RAM, and the option of 32 or 64GB of internal storage that will be expandable on microSD.
Camera wise, it would appear that the Droid Turbo 2 will boast a very attractive 21 megapixel unit, likely the same as the one currently featured in Moto X Style and Moto X Play, which has been Motorola’s most successful camera in years. The selfie snapper around front will be a wide-angle affair that has only 5 megapixels.
It will have a very capable 3,760 mAh battery. According to reports, it will actually have a 48-hour battery life, and will support quick charging (apparently, according to the ad, 13 hours in only 15 minutes).
Apparently eventually the Droid Turbo 2 will venture outside of the U.S. and will be sold internationally under the name Moto X Force. That’s still just hypothetical, though.
