Is Samsung Gear VR the top gift on your Christmas list this season? Well, don't get your hopes up. The retailer is experiencing a high volume of orders as soon as the product is released, so you might be stuck searching Craigslist to get your virtual reality headset in time this year.

The Samsung Gear VR is compatible with the Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge, S6, and S6 Edge Plus.

Samsung Gear VR just became available in the UK this week and unlucky consumers are realizing that they can't get the device at its low price of £80. The virtual reality headset released in the U.S. last month with a reasonable price tag of $99 but with the high demand for the holiday season, fans might find themselves paying anywhere from $150 - $250 from third party vendors. Amazon happens to be out of stock but has connections to other retailers that can get you the device in time for Christmas day.

When the virtual reality accessory released in the U.S. last month it received positive reviews. The Samsung Gear VR is compatible with the Galaxy Note 5S6 Edge, S6, and S6 Edge Plus. The headset weighs 318g without a phone attached and comfortably fits with its foam cushioning and AMOLED screen that features precise head-tracking and a wide field of view. Put on the Gear VR and you can be transported to the virtual reality of your choice. This is not the first time we've seen virtual reality be a huge hit for the public interest, but it does mark notable improvements and the changes in technology that now allow users the ease of connecting with their Samsung smartphones.

The Oculus Store has new apps and games available in time for the surge of new users. Conveniently, a new Star Wars game created specifically for virtual reality has been launched as a precursor to the much-anticipated movie, The Force Awakens.  Another gaming option, Deer Hunter, puts you in a lifelike outdoor setting and allows you to hunt exotic species as if you're really there which might actually be better for the environment than hunting animals that are almost extinct in real life. There are non-gaming experiences available too, like Soundscape which lets you create your virtual garage band and play instruments that you can change with up to two other people. The great gaming and social options provide epic entertainment while we wait for the release of the next headsets in virtual reality, like Oculus Rift, which should come sometime next year.
