We’ve talked before about the dangers of people using 3D printers to make guns, and the problems that could cause for society. But 3D aren’t only used for evil. A German maker has used a 3D printer to build a complex gun, but this is more fun than it is deadly. Rather than fire bullets, this gun instead fires paper planes.
Built by a 3D printer and standard hardware tools, the so-called ‘Papierfliegerei’ is not just a simple gun. Instead, it combines a complex origami-like folding mechanism into the system, enabled a user simply to insert flat sheets of paper, and watch as paper aeroplanes come flying out.
