Flip Phones Back in Fashion?

There's something nostalgic about seeing Adele's crisp snap of her flip phone in her latest video that just takes me back to those junior high days when teenage boys would "ask you for your digits" and send smilies that still faced :) this direction. The days before pass codes, when you could just fold up your conversation when your parents walked in or end a conversation with a vengeance by slamming it shut it if you were really pissed. Ahhh, those were the days. 

It comes as no surprise that the flip phone continues to be a fashion statement since its debut in classic 90's movies like Clueless

But apparently, the magic of the flip phone might still be at our fingertips. After learning that Samsung is rolling out the new SM-W2016, which some claim to look much like the Galaxy S6, I had to wonder, are flip phones still around? And who is using them? It seems that while it is a more affordable option for many consumers, celebrities like Rhianna keep the trendiness of flip phones alive.  

It comes as no surprise that the flip phone continues to be a fashion statement since its debut in classic 90's movies like Clueless and it's iconic appearance in the hands of Mean Girl Regina George in the early 2000's. The time-honored tech gives modern models a run for their money in terms of convenience, since it's one of the few phones that can still fit in in a pocket or small purse. The new Samsung model is said to have a 16 megapixel camera and 64 GB of RAM.
